The CNN article is flawed in many ways and that’s unfortunate considering the importance of discussing child pornography. Maybe one day people will want to understand what is really out there and why, but that day has yet to arrive.
i saw this on CNN today. just what we need soccer moms on steroids! Some how there’s a belief that anything military should be law enforcement! notice how many police murders there are the past few years. train them to be carpenters, but there is no correlation between policing a civilian population and a combat veteran!
Nobody should be expecting to see “SEAL Team 0.6” breaking down their front door with wheelchairs anytime soon.
1. This is foremost, a rehab program.
2. It is an unpaid internship.
3. The participants are not engaging in direct law enforcement activities; they are only support personnel.
The public SHOULD NOT be involved in the actions of these already dubious laws and dubious and questionable actions by the police. These guys were wounded in illegal wars waged by this government and now they want to become involved in the probably illegal police actions?!?!
Maybe there is new blood in the water with funding opportunities for this organization with IML. Not a well intended organization, far worse in scale and influence than Parents for Megans Law.
Here is the testimony of Grier Weeks, the Executive Director of this organization, at the swine feeding trough misleading Congress in his quest for millions in funding on March 19, 2015:
“Please understand that 50,000 victims is only the tip of a much larger iceberg. Law enforcement is drowning in the fight against child sexual exploitation, without the funding to investigate more than two percent of leads or access large parts of the hidden Internet.“
“To put the full magnitude of this crisis in context, there are over 800,000 “registered sex offenders” in the United States, representing just those who were detected, convicted, tagged and released. A major study done in 2011 found that 90 percent of them had victims under 18 and 70 percent had victims under age 14 — and the average offender age was 44.”
“So it would be entirely conservative to project that there are well over a million adults preying on children sexually in the U.S. right now, which means millions of victims. Every one of those children is in danger of being photographed by a smart phone or digital camera.”

Convicted tagged and released. Like were justsome animal.
I think it is good that these veterans feel like they have a purpose and are not left out there with highly specialized military training and feeling like they are no longer needed… However…..
I do not know the vetting process involved for these people but I have a service-connected(low-level naval combat, nothing compared to what these men endured) rating of 50% and I can tell you from personal experience that my curiosity and use of these horrible images did not manifest itself until ten years after the action and not until I stumbled across a rotating banner image that implied illegal sex.
Granted, I am not these folks, and they are not me, every individual has their own path in life, but it is my opinion that these men are taking an unnecessary risk with their long-term mental health and physical safety of their close family members.
There are so many other services the nation needs that these men could fulfill and leave this work to people who do not have potential PTSD and Depression triggers in their background.
After all, a federal agent who has killed an unarmed suspect would probably never pass the vetting process to do this work, so I just think this needed work could be performed by someone with a more stable past.
This work is still a better mission than sitting at home, watching the news, feeling alone, left to rot, unneeded and start instead turning into an offender as opposed to catching them. But it does not have to be either or, there are so many things we need these men to do.
At least one of them(statistically) will become an offender, but I doubt we will ever see that headline or release from the federal government.
